LOKMAM KÖZ
About this location
Even before stepping into LOKMAM KÖZ, the intense aroma of charcoal and grilled meat practically pulls you inside automatically. Right behind the large glass window, the enormous charcoal grill is constantly glowing — and it’s something we still find ourselves fascinated by every single time. That open grill is the heart of the restaurant and immediately creates an atmosphere that feels loud, lively, and incredibly welcoming all at once. On Schanzenstraße, Lokmam has long become one of the neighborhood’s go-to spots for long evenings, large groups, and food you can already smell before it even reaches the table.
Culinarily, almost everything here revolves around Anatolian charcoal grilling. Lokmam is especially known for its Adana kebap, flavorful lamb skewers, and incredibly tender lamb chops served straight from the grill. Alongside that come steaming hot pide bread, creamy meze spreads, and grilled sheep’s cheese that usually disappear from the table faster than you can reorder them. Not only do meat lovers leave happy here, but the huge variety of warm and cold meze dishes also turns dinner into a highly social experience. Especially in larger groups, the entire table quickly becomes filled with plates constantly being shared and passed around.
Right in the middle of Sternschanze, LOKMAM KÖZ is one of those places where something is always happening. Families, late-night crowds, groups of friends, and people heading toward the next bar all blend together into an energetic atmosphere that perfectly matches the neighborhood itself. After dinner, guests are often treated to a complimentary Turkish tea — a small moment of calm in the middle of all the movement. Thanks to its long opening hours, Lokmam has also become one of the best late-night dining spots in the Schanze area. We’re convinced that this combination of charcoal grilling, warm hospitality, and authentic urban energy is exactly what makes the restaurant so special.
