Ollita Peruana

Restaurant Peruvian Barmbek-Süd

About this location

Ollita Peruana was a discovery by Arturo (many thanks! 😊), and we knew right away it had to be featured on Table Tales. Not only were we immediately drawn to the restaurant’s cozy, Peruvian-inspired interior, but the food impressed us just as much. The menu offers classic Peruvian dishes prepared according to original recipes – from freshly marinated ceviche clásico and hearty stews to flavorful lomo saltado and traditional starters like papa a la huancaína. It includes a variety of fish and meat dishes as well as vegetarian options and typical side dishes, accompanied by South American beverages such as chicha morada or creative cocktails.

Located in the heart of Hamburg-Barmbek, not far from Humboldtstraße, Ollita Peruana has been serving traditional Peruvian cuisine in a warm, family-style atmosphere for several years. The restaurant is run by Cristina Quevedo, under whose leadership it first began as a catering business before being transformed into a permanent restaurant in 2016 – with the goal of bringing authentic Peruvian home cooking to Hamburg.

The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming: a small, lovingly designed space with Latin American music that creates a little piece of Peru in the middle of Hamburg. We’re confident that the authentic flavors, fresh ingredients, and warm hospitality – evoking the feeling of “dining in Peru” – will win you over.
